Yuliya Vassilyeva
I have been passionate about photography for several years. I started by chance, traveling (it's one of my passions) between Kazakhstan, where I was born into a Russian family, and Italy, where I've lived since 2006. I studied law in Orenburg, Siberia, and I'm a lawyer in Russian law and kazakh. I deal with human rights and international issues: this also helps me a lot to get to know the world. I also participate in political and social initiatives and activities – sometimes intervening, others as a photographer. I live in Tuscany, in Arezzo, but I'm almost always travelling. I have visited all Italian regions and many countries on different continents: among others, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, South Korea, Cuba, Estonia, France, Germany, Georgia, Japan, Greece, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania , Malta, Maldives, Morocco, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Russia, San Marino, Seychelles, Spain, United States, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. I have photographed in over 50 countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa; My photos have been published in newspapers and magazines and shown on television programmes.

I have made frequent trips to the Russian Arctic, conducting tours among the indigenous Nenets in Yamal, the Arctic Ocean and the White Sea. I have also led many winter photography tours in Siberia on Lake Baikal.
In collaboration with the Italian tourist agency based in Reykjavik "Hidden World Travel", I worked in the organization and conducting of photographic tours throughout the Icelandic territory. I captured my photographic impressions of Iceland in my book titled Iceland - all the warmth of the cold.
Also, I organize tours to Kamchatka and Bolivia.
